Annual Plant Sale Raises 17K for Students

Published: May 12, 2026

The annual Plant Sale hosted by the Horticulture Technology program at 91ɬ (91ɬ) raised a record-breaking $17,000 during this year’s event at the  (NAGD) located at the Nampa Campus Agricultural Sciences Complex.

Proceeds from the sale directly support student learning in the Horticulture Technology program, helping fund courses, future plant sales, and student celebrations.

Community members packed the greenhouse to shop for plants grown and cared for by 91ɬ students, including annuals, hanging baskets, herbs, vegetables, succulents, and houseplants. Visitors also enjoyed music, food, and sweet treats throughout the day.

Attendees shared positive feedback about both the quality of the plants and the student experience. Many visitors commented on the exceptional hanging baskets, while others praised students for being knowledgeable, welcoming, and helpful throughout the event.

91ɬ Facilities staff provided sound and music throughout the event, while the College's Business Office assisted with processing payments during the busy sale. Community partners Scotty’s Hot Dogs and Float and Chill helped keep guests fueled throughout the day.

“The 91ɬ community showed up in a big way,” said Assistant Dean of Agricultural Sciences, Andrea Schumaker. “We appreciate every human who came out to show their support for our program, our students, our faculty and staff, and the community as a whole.”
